Not looking forward to the drive but ready to get settled.

Have a good weekend and "see" you soon!

Evolution of Dance

This is hilarious!!

How many of these dances have you done?

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

All of the above.

A. Stressed

B. Exhausted

C. Emotional

D. On the edge

C. Ready to throw in the towel and just walk away.

Yes, I am all of the above. My husband leaves in just a week for Iraq and our last few days are filled with the stress and strain of moving and cleaning the house "white glove style."

It's annoying and I'm just down right tired of doing it all.

I have a helper...well kinda :)

She insisted on hanging out in this box. I would take her out, turn around to get some more stuff, only to turn around and find her back in there. Crazy, but oh so cute girl of mine!

I can do it myself!

Texas here we come!

I got my moms plane ticket yesterday and she will be here in 2 weeks. She arrives on a Thursday and we are driving out on that following Sunday. It's going to be a quick trip for mom and probably tiring too. We are so thankful that she is able to come up here and drive back with me and the kids.
I'm excited about this move and really sad at the same time. I love the fact that I am going to be close to my family and get to spend the summer there. It has been along time since we have lived there so I feel like the kids will get to know their family finally. I know the boys are going to have a blast playing outside and swimming everyday. Milee...well yeah she will just get really spoiled I'm sure!
I am sad because this also means saying "goodbye for now" to my husband...for the 3rd time. I do have a calm feeling though knowing this will be his very last trip to Iraq. That is whats going to get me through this. I know it is going to be really hard on the boys, especially Rylan. He's such a daddy's boy!
So, I'm off to pack our stuff up. move some to storage. put the stuff thats going to Texas to the side. make appointments that need to be attended to before leaving. cancel all of our housing utilities etc. change our address. ok, you get the point. I'm going to be busy for a while :)

Milee and Lorelai

My friend Kat and I took our girls out for some sunshine and pictures yesterday. They weren't much in the mood for picture taking but we snapped a few cute ones.

Easter Time!!!

Easter is this Sunday.

I just love this time of the year. It always brings warm weather, good memories, time to spend with family, but mostly it's about Easter and what it really means. How Jesus died for our sins and rose again on this beautiful day.

I remember loving this time as a child too. When I was little, mom would buy my sister and I lavish Easter dresses to wear to church that Easter Sunday. We would get up that morning to find what the Easter bunny had brought us and then get ready for the Sunday service. Mom always had to take our picture in the front yard before leaving for church. After the service we would rush home to prepare for the day. Good food, lots of family, and of course an Easter egg hunt! Every year, the older teenagers would walk us young ones down the street so the adults could hide the eggs. I can remember it like yesterday, but I can also remember very well the time when I was the "older' one walking the kids down the street. Now, well I'm the one who hides the eggs for my kids.

This year we will be spending Easter Sunday in Washington with Tony's family. This will be the first year we have been there for Easter. I don't know how they do Easter but I know I will carry on many of the same traditions I did as a kid. We went and bought all the kids, myself, and Tony an Easter outfit. Hopefully we will get lots of pictures! The kids are planning on a visit from the Easter bunny, and I'm hoping we can find a church there to visit for that special day.

What do you love about this time of year?

New Blog Header...

I kinda figured out enough about Photoshop to make a new blog header. It's not near as pretty as most but I plan on getting a new one made once we get some good spring pictures. For now...this will due. It's nice to have a little personalization at least :)

Here we go again...

This prayer request is kinda small compared to some others that are needed right now, but I know a lot of you pray and thought I'd ask. Several months ago, Tony was slotted to go to Afghanistan in May with his squadron here. I was going to move to Texas with the kids so I wouldn't be completely by myself and to save money. Then he was told that he would not be going because by the time they returned he would not have enough time to out-process from the military. Well, as of yesterday he was told he is going to Iraq--leaving May 11th. We don't know a for sure date on when he would come home. It is a shorter tour than usual though.

I have all these mixed emotions right now. Of course I don't like when my husband goes to Iraq, who would?! But, in the beginning we were hoping for this last deployment so we could save all the extra money he makes while he is there. I know that sounds selfish that we wanted him to deploy to an unsafe area just for the money, but since we are getting out into this unstable world, a nice built up savings account was sounding pretty good.

So, now we are excited to be able to accomplish our first plan, but he leaves in just a little over a month. That means we will need to be out of our house and moved in around 30 days! OMG...just typing that makes me panic. Plus, I always dread the day he leaves and it starts today. In the next 30 days we have to pack up a 4 bedroom house, move some stuff to the place Tony will be staying till he leaves, move the rest to Texas and put it in storage for now, take Kaden out of his school, go to Washington (trip was already planned and we need to visit)...the list goes on and on.

I talked to one of my best friends yesterday morning before I had found all this out. It's funny because I was stressing and telling her that I didn't know how I was going to do everything and prepare to leave in August. I have just been so anxious about the future. After talking to her and reading Angie's last post on Bring the Rain, I felt this overwhelming peace. I just knew it was all going to work out and that I just needed to calm down and hand all my worrying over to God. Now this!!!!

You know, I'm stessing but at the same time I think this is just an answered prayer. A sign that I need to just relax and quite trying to make everything so right all the time.

Please do pray that we will be able to get all of this stuff done without losing our minds. Also, pray for Tony's upcoming trip to Iraq. It's always scary and hard seeing your husband leave (this will be our 3rd time to do this). It's not an easy day!

Thanks for listening--letting me vent and for your prayers. They are always appreciated.
